About the opportunity:

Our client is a reliable and credible boutique media agency. The company continues to grow at a cracking pace in 2021 and is expanding in Australia and abroad, so the opportunity is enormous for the right person. 

Role description:

The Group Account Director is instrumental in achieving the overall goal and vision for the team. Working directly with the Founder, the role will have strategic oversight in retaining clients, managing a team, and hitting growth targets. To start, you will be managing a team of six PR Account Managers and two PR Assistants with the vision to grow this team within the next 12 months. You will liaise closely with sales to get sight of new clients coming in before taking responsibility for delivering media hits for those clients. Part of this role will see you recruit, train and manage staff. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure clients receive an exceptional PR and Crisis Media service
  • Oversee and be responsible for the recruitment of Sydney and Melbourne offices
  • Mentor and train employees to ensure success within their roles and ability to hit KPI’s
  • Oversee and be responsible for the recruitment of Sydney and Melbourne offices
  • Ensure the team develops service-oriented content/sales-based content for social media
  • Ensure the team research, oversee, and/or write influential media, PR & lobbying blogs

This role will suit someone with the following background / experience / qualities:

  • Bachelor of Journalism/Public Relations/Media Communication or associated disciplinary
  • Prior experience in a similar role supporting clients & managing staff
  • Commercial acumen
  • Proven track record in business transformation & efficient planning would be ideal
  • Sound strategic thinking & planning skills including problem solving aptitude
  • Focused on innovation while demonstrating critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Based in Australia, or willing to relocate from NZ
